Media Arts Center San Diego nurtures and supports media artists working in film, video, audio, and computer-based multimedia. The organization was founded to challenge the historical exclusion of under-represented communities from the media field, and distorted images of these communities by mainstream media. MACSD seeks to provide a forum for and promote the diversity of interests of San Diego Border Region media artists through regular screenings, educational outreach, distribution, film festivals, production and technical assistance, scholarships and fiscal sponsorships.

Metro is an outreach agency of the United Methodist Chruch, which provides direct social services and supports community development. Metro seeks to support local churches in expanding their capacity to become more actively involved in the lives of their neighborhoods. Through its Youth Leadership Center, the Sherman Heights Community Center offers a safe space for youth with a variety of after school activities for youth in the community of Sherman Heights as well as the larger San Diego County Community. Our services include: Computer Lab, Tutoring(Elementary, Middle and High School age students), as well as sports activities. We have a Youth Council that meets regularly to provide a meeting space and time for young people to discuss issues affecting their communities. Through the Youth Council, youth become actively involved in helping to organize events such as conferences(youth Summit),Leadership workshops, Health/Prevention workshops, Rock concerts, Hip Hop dances. Through our Mentor/Mentee program young adults that have participated in past Leadership workshops get the opportunity to help and mentor other youth that attend activities at the Sherman Heights Youth Leadership Center.
